Dear Friends ~
The first day lily opened last week in our front yard garden. Summer is truly in full bloom now, and I celebrate with the lilies. We had a perfectly lovely savoring of the season in my Zoom room on Saturday, June 5. As I spoke the poems to the faces gathered on my screen, I found myself soaking in, not only the blessings of this particular moment in June, but the presence of every being who came to take in the poems. Some faces were lovingly familiar, some delightfully new. And the voice and face of Annie Geheb brought me great joy. How lovely to offer a performance together again, as we did for so many years with our beloved Ellen Mason in Voices of a Different Dream. Ellen was with us, in spirit as well as in the two recorded pieces we played.
You may view and share “Savoring This Season” on my YouTube channel. When the time is ripe, please carve out a quiet hour for listening.
In the coming year, we expect to create more events for exploring and celebrating the turning of seasons in poetry and song. As we move through these perilous times, I cherish every moment of shared joy and loving reflection.
May the beauty of the season grow in each and every one of us.
Many blessings,
Susan
Upcoming Events
- Wednesday, June 23. Susan reads her poetry in celebration of Pride month. Online event sponsored by Center in the Park. Details TBA.
- All year long, at the time of the new moon, Susan and spouse Wendy lead Rosh Hodesh rituals with Kohennet Shoshana Bricklin. These circles are offered as a program of MIshkan Shalom Synagogue but are open to all who are open to the wisdom of the Divine Feminine. Since the Pandemic urged the leaders onto an online platform, the gatherings have grown and drawn participants from coast to coast. Each ritual includes chant, poetry, and opportunities for deep sharing around the themes of the Jewish month. Anyone who would like to be included on the Rosh Hodesh at Mishkan Shalom listserv should contact Susan.
